ProgrammeMaster have produced the official match-day programmes for this this weekend’s Betfred Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park, featuring this season’s second meeting of ‘The Old Firm’ as Rangers take on Celtic on Sunday afternoon.
However, before the rivals clash for the 332nd time, Greenock Morton will be hoping to qualify for their first league cup final since 1963 when they face the 2013-14 Cup victors, Aberdeen.
Rangers will be hoping to make amends for September’s 5-1 league defeat at the hands of the Scottish champions and will be buoyed by back-to-back 5-0 victories in their previous cup rounds.
After beating Peterhead in early August, Mark Warburton’s team backed it up with another five goals at home to Queen of the South in September’s quarterfinal.
Celtic’s run to the semi-finals has also been relatively comfortable having also picked up a 5-0 win over Motherwell before defeating Alloa Athletic 2-0.
Having progressed through both previous rounds with one-goal victories, Morton will face a tough semi-final against Aberdeen, who come off the back of five consecutive wins and currently sit second in the Premiership.
The weekend’s two victors will meet in this year’s Betfred Cup final on the 27th November at Hampden Park.
