Lawford joins our team as Editor

We are pleased to announce that Mark Lawford has been appointed Editor at Programmemaster. Mark joins the company with a wealth of experience and was previously Sports Editor at Yahoo Sport for four years. He was previously at Associated Newspapers as Sports Editor of Metro (2001-2006) before setting up and working the Daily Mail Sports website from 2006-2011.He also has worked on Today, The Times and The Telegraph and was a sports feature writer for TheSun.com. Mark has been a football referee in West Sussex since 1988 and is also a level 2 rugby coach.

Born in south-east London, Mark has been a Millwall supporter since the 1960s, and being at Old Trafford to see the Lions beat Sunderland in the 2004 FA Cup semi-final is his obvious “I was there” sporting highlight. His all-time sporting hero is George Best – whose “feet were as sensitive as a pickpocket’s hands” according to legendary sports journalist Hugh McIlvanney – but Muhammad Ali is a very close second.
