Craven Cottage will play host to the opening fixture of the 2016/2017 Sky Bet Championship when Fulham FC hosts Newcastle United on Friday, 5th August.
The Cottagers will be keen to put a disappointing season behind them and a result against the newly relegated United, led by former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, would provide a significant boost of confidence for the season ahead.
Following the opening clash, the club will be on the road for back-to-back league matches away to Preston North End and Leeds United, before returning home to welcome Cardiff City.
Despite their lowly 2015/2016 finish, only four Championship clubs scored more league goals than Fulham last season, finding the net on a total of 66 occasions, led by the league’s second-highest scorer in Ross McCormack.
Their goalscoring ranks have since been further boosted by the signings of Nigerian international, Sone Aluko, and Togo international, Floyd Ayite.
The acquisitions come after Michael Madl, the on loan centre-back from SK Sturm Graz, signed a deal to remain permanently at Craven Cottage.
After their relegation from the Premier League in 2013/2014, the Cottagers have struggled to make an impact in the Championship and supporters will be hoping this season can foster in a challenge for the top half of the table and, potentially, a play-off position.
